How do they return astronauts from space, when the rockets abandon their fuel supplies?
Q. As far as I've seen, rockets lose their outer thrusters, and then ditch the hydrogen fuel tank when they set in orbit. I'm interested as to how astronauts are able to return back to earth from space stations or other space missions. Is there some kind of return spacecraft that is sent up with ample fuel?

A. A small explanation first: Returning home means, in case of the Shuttle, change the orbit by reducing speed, that it passes through a small box shaped region in space, the Entry Interface, which brings the Shuttle to a targeted landing site. Depending on orbit altitude, the Deorbit Maneuver requires about maximal 160 m/s velocity change, the Shuttle can provide up to 400 m/s with it's engines. The shuttle has the OMS (Orbital Maneuvering System) for orbital maneuvering, it has less thrust, is not as effective as the MPS (main propulsion system), but can be restarted 16 times until it runs out of Nitrogen, which is used for operating the valves and clean the propellant lines after the burn. How much return on renting a luxury holiday home in Cornwall ?
Q. I'm thinking of buying a luxury holiday home in Cornwall set on a Woodland Estate. The aim is to live there for about 3 months a year and rent it out for the rest of the year. What sort of percentage return on my investment would be deemed "good" ?

What is the proper way to return mail to sender?
Q. We keep getting mail for the man that lived in our house more than 6 years ago. He is now deceased. We have marked out the bar on the bottom of the envelope and wrote Return to sender. No longer at this address with an arrow pointing to the sender. We still receive some of the mail back again. Is there a proper way to return this mail to prevent it from continually coming.

A. I used to make the efforts you are going through. I even went to the post office and practically drew them a picture. Eventually I realized I was the only one who cared about this guy's mail. If he cared he'd contact the sender, if the post office cared they'd have listened to me at any one of my visits. I was going crazy for who? So I stopped. If it came I just threw it in the trash. And guess what, that only lasted for about 6 weeks. Know why? Because now that I wasn't spoonfeeding the guy his mail, and doing all his work for him, he (or his family/beneficiary - whoever benefits from receipt) had to actually make arrangements to receive his mail, or not get it.
