The word cartoon has various meanings, based on several very different forms of visual art and illustration. The artists who draw cartoons are known as cartoonists.

The term has evolved over time. The original meaning was in fine art, where cartoon meant a preparatory drawing for a piece of art, such as a painting or tapestry. The modern meaning refers to both humorous illustrations in print and animated films. Even more recently, there are several contemporary meanings, including creative visual work for electronic media and animated digital media. When the word cartoon is applied to print media, it most often refers to a humorous single-panel drawing or gag cartoon, most of which have typeset captions rather than speech balloons. The word cartoon is sometimes used to refer to a comic strip, and it can also refer to a humorous illustration for fiction or nonfiction published in newspapers and magazines.

Why are cartoons people make nowadays no fun and do you miss old cartoons from 90's and early 2000's?
Q. I can't believe Nickelodeon is not the same anymore, for cancelling good shows and replacing them with stupid new shows.I miss awesome old cartoons. I love old shows like My Life as a Teenage Robot, Chalk Zone, Angry Beavers, Oh Yeah Cartoons, Catdog, and Invader ZIM. So, who agrees with me that old cartoons from 90's and early 2000's are amazing?

A. I haven't had Austar for years now but I can't stand the new shows that the classics have been replaced with. Catdog, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Angry Beavers, Arrghh Real Monsters, etc, were such great cartoons! Even Fairly Odd Parents and Jimmy Neutron. But now they have stupid cartoons which won't leave a mark.

What is the phobia of plasticine animation and cartoons?
Q. What is the phobia of plasticine animation like Wallace and Gromit and cartoons like Charlie the Unicorn? Help me out!! It's no joke. I actually want to know. When watching plasticine animations such as W&G or Charlie and the Unicorn it freaks out my friend. We tried to find a name but couldn't. I don't know what other information you need-maybe if you respond again you can tell.

A. If animation is your only phobia it's called mono-phobia. But if you explain more clearly about why you are afraid of them, and use specifics, I may be able to help you. If this is a joke I do think it's funny, but I could probably still figure it out. Hey again, do they freak you out because of the way that they look, and the human voices? Or is it content. One more question. Are you also afraid of clowns...heehee. Okay, here's a few ideas...but nothing seems to fit very well. technophobia-fear of technology, a certain type. phobophobia-fear of being afraid of your own fears ( added that because you wrote help me out with exclamations). xenomania-the fear of foreigners ( Well, they aren't people obviously...and really, who can… [cont.]

Need ideas for Decorating themed brunch table, using Saturday Morning Cartoons as a theme.?
Q. I am hosting a table at a Ladies brunch, I was thinking of using a theme of Saturday Morning Cartoons. Serving Cereal with toppings like berries and such. I am looking for decoration ideas, cost is a BIG issue so cheap, or easily made things would be great! I am planning on trying to get huge bowls and maybe little plates in primary colors, I just need a center piece and little decorations.

A. If you are thinking like Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner, and easy centerpiece would be paper towel rolls covered in red tissue paper, tied together standing up like the acme tnt used in all cartoons, get some red orange and yellow pipe cleaners and the colored wires with the stars on them, glue them inside the middle of 3 of your "dynamite", you have an "explosive" centerpiece. Spongebob would be easy too. Fishbowl in the middle with colored rocks, a cheap goldfish, blue tablecloth, seashells for decorations, a stuffed Spongebob, maybe even a sign that says "Welcome to Bikini Bottom". I dont know if these help, just some stuff of the top of my head.
