How does a Northwest Airlines buddy pass work?
Q. My boyfriend is a Mesaba Airlines employee and I want to use my buddy pass this weekend, maybe fly out on thursday and come back monday morning. I was just wondering about the likelihood of getting an available seat on both of those days, and the things i should do in advance to improve the chances of getting on a flight.

A. Buddy passes for any carrier are the lowest seniority pass in the system. I see people being bumped all the time waiting for flights. Your best bet is to try and see what the flight loads look like for the flights you want to catch, and have some back up flights in mind in case you need to reroute yourself. Early morning flights are usually less crowded, but you need to check your flight loads to see how many other airline employees are also listing for those flights that may "bump" you off the flight.

Why is my buddy list reverting back to an older listing?
Q. I have changed the names and telephone numbers of a couple of buddies on my list several weeks ago, however, for the past two mornings when I open up messenger they have been reverted bacK to the older listing, but then later in the evening when I reopen, the new listing is back. Why is my buddy listing reverting back to an older listing?

A. If it's any consolation, it's just happened for me too - my buddy list has regressed to the version I had about 2 months ago. Irritating, huh?

How do people get on your buddy list on AIM?
Q. I'm referring to when exactly does a person stay on your buddy list. Cause i was looking over my list today, and i found names of people i never knew or even talked to. How do they get on the list? Is it after you accept their message or reply? Or is it through another means, because, as I've said before, i never even replied to some of the people's im's and they're on my list somehow.

A. I think the newer version of AIM saves peoples S/N's that you've gotten messages from in a new tab. That's why I switched back to the old version of AIM. There might be a setting in the preferences that can stop that.
